United Quality Management System

Functional model and the role of AI

UnitedQMS is a platform under development for managing quality processes and documentation in engineering projects, designed around an expert multi-agent functional model and a hybrid AI architecture. In this model, specialised AI agents are intended to support project participants in analysing requirements, verifying the consistency and completeness of documentation, and assessing readiness for acceptance. Each agent will perform a defined set of tasks, while decisions and approvals will remain with authorised people.

Local architecture and the cloud agent

The architecture envisages storing documentation and running a local AI/RAG server in an environment isolated from the Internet. The RAG mechanism is intended to enable analysis based on retrieved content from project documentation, with references to source materials. A cloud agent will complement this environment, supporting additional analytical tasks and the development of recommendations based on selected information approved for transfer outside the local environment, without direct access to the documentation repository.

Relationship to the PQD-FH framework

The platform is a software extension of the PQD-FH framework, supporting the ongoing creation, organisation and verification of documentation as work progresses. Its development also takes into account the principles of module PQD-FH 06, concerning lifecycle data management and the use of data in operational analytics.

Inspections and quality documentation

The intended process core of the platform comprises ITP (Inspection and Test Programme) — the overarching programme of inspections and tests — and ITPL (Inspection and Test Plan) — detailed plans for specific disciplines, systems and scopes of work. Linking them is intended to provide traceability from requirements, acceptance criteria and assigned responsibilities, through inspection results, to acceptance decisions and the preparation of the final quality documentation package — the Final Quality Dossier (FQD).

Collaboration and permissions

UnitedQMS is being designed as a shared working environment for the Client, Contractor, Project Engineer and subcontractors at successive tiers. Access to modules, data and actions will reflect assigned roles, work scopes and granted permissions. The platform is intended to support the coordination of inspections and tests, the submission, verification and approval of records, while preserving revision history and the traceability of decisions.

Access to the demonstration

The current demonstration version is available by invitation only and includes account activation, sign-in and user access management. The quality process and documentation modules, together with the AI capabilities described above, form the target scope of development and will be released in stages. Anyone interested in access to the demonstration can contact the platform administrator.
